Leadership Changes at Piako Waihou Catchment Trust

The past 4 months have seen leadership changes at Piako Waihou Catchment Trust. We welcomed new Trustee Adrienne Wilcock (pictured right) and farewelled long serving Trustee and Treasurer Jo Wigley (pictured left).

Farewell to Jo:

It is with a heavy heart that we farewell Jo Wrigley as Trustee and Treasurer. Jo has been involved with the forum since 2021 and was a founding member of the Trust.

Jo brought a wealth of knowledge, experience, and leadership to the Trust, including financial oversight and funding, governance, policy development, employment and HR guidance, relationship building, and communications. Jo played a crucial role in establishing the Trust and getting us to where we are today, ensuring regulatory requirements are met, and best practice is followed.

As Chief Executive of Go Eco, Jo strengthened the relationship between the two organisations with our shared values of ecological responsibility and inclusive participation. Jo fiercely champions the philosophy that leadership is a relational practice. She consistently reminds us that ecological health is deeply intertwined with cultural and social wellbeing.

Jo has been a guiding light for our Trust. She has always been the “what would Jo think” person guiding us on governance and best practice. Generous with her time and expertise, and always available when needed, it is Jo’s passion for the community, the catchment, and her ability to better connect the two which will be missed the most.

We sincerely thank Jo for her years of dedication, tireless advocacy, and her unwavering belief in what a committed community can achieve. We wish her all the best in her next chapter.

Welcome to Adrienne:

We are excited to welcome Adrienne Wilcock who joined the Trust as a Trustee in April 2026. Adrienne has been a supporter and regular volunteer for the Trust over many years and brings a wealth of experience.

Adrienne is a local dairy farmer who has previously worked alongside DairyNZ on farmer engagement initiatives to improve water quality in the local catchment.

Adrienne brings governance knowledge and experience to the Trust, having chaired the Agrecovery Foundation and served as a Matamata Ward District Councillor and Mayor of Matamata-Piako District Council.

Adrienne has been actively involved in community organisations encompassing health, sport and education, and was recently appointed to the Netball Waikato Bay of Plenty Zone Board.
